Exclamation Thank our Troops...send messages overseas!

What is Operation Appreciation?

On Veteran’s Day, Wednesday, November 11, 2009, we will have our 2nd annual “Operation Appreciation” on AM 1450 WWJB in Brooksville, Fl. Our show will begin at 4PM Eastern time, and run until the last phone call is taken, most likely beyond 10PM. We open the phone lines and allow callers to extend their thanks to service members serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. The messages are recorded, written to CD, and included in care packages sent to the troops.

As a radio show, we have spent the last 2 years reminding listeners that the freedom we enjoy is not free. It sometimes comes at the cost of a service member paying the ultimate sacrifice. We cannot forget his sacrifice, or the sacrifice of the 5,100 + other servicemen and women that we’ve lost in Iraq and Afghanistan. We must also never forget our veterans, and we must show the troops serving today that we appreciate them, and unconditionally support them.

We hold the position that, "Regardless of whether or not we feel the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are right or wrong, we must support our troops for doing the jobs they have been tasked to do."

Our Goal:

Last year, we received over 130 phone calls and sent 2,200 CDs to Troops in overseas. Our goal is to double that this year. It will not take much of your time, but we do understand that you may be busy. That is why we are providing a 24 Hour Toll-Free number this year that you can call and record your message.

Please take a few minutes of your time to send a well-deserved message of thanks to our Military and our Veteran's that sacrifice so much for our freedoms.

Holiday Greetings are appropriate.

Our goal is to have CDs to them before Christmas.
