1. In various areas of the county, you will see "roadside memorials" for drivers or passengers that died in accidents. Do they bother you?
No. Should they? 2. What are your thoughts on legalized gambling in Hernando County? Would you visit casinos in Hernando County if they were legalized? I don't care for gambling. It's a freedom... but should probably be a question for the community at large that would be affected most by it. 3. If Hernando County got a drive-in theater that showed first-run movies, would you go? No. The Motion Picture Association of America co-sponsored the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. (For you tv placated numbskulls, it's the law that makes it legal to throw you in jail for just talking about how specific copyrighted technologies work... and yes, people have gone to jail for this. What happened to the freedom of speech? The MPAA.) which makes them borderline evil in my mind. So, I refuse to give them any amount of my money by watching movies. 4. If you hear a song on the radio and would like to have it for personal use, how do you obtain it? (1) I would go and buy the CD (2) I would purchase it via iTunes or other online pay-per-song service (3) I would download it from a peer-to-peer service, such as Limewire or Bearshare, and burn it to disk/download to media for free 1. No. Guess who else co-sponsored the Digital Millennium Copyright Act? That's right! the Recording Industry Association of America. Screw them too. 2. No. See 1. 3. Downtempo (the genre that I listen to) isn't heard much on the US radio stations. popular in some parts of Europe though. 5. Do you own and use a high definition television? Is it plasma or LCD? What high definition service do you use? Is HD worth the hype? I don't own a TV. TV's placate the mind, and distract people from thinking their own thoughts. 6. Do you participate in Waste Management's recycling program? Do you think a recycling program is beneficial to our community? Yes. Yes, so long as the cost to the public is kept in check. Yes they do because there are very distracting. There should be ONE SIGHT in Brooksville with a place for a bronze plaque to be attached for persons who died on the roads in the county. Young drivers and anyone arrested for a DWI should be taken to the sight and read the name of those who were killed as a result of an accident due to someone DWI. From all indications, many of these lives could have been saved if only some of the victime were wearing seatbelts. Quote:

I own a Toshiba projection HDTV and use direct TV. I also own a HDTV receiver but it needs some repair. However as one who has some knowledge of the technology, it is here to stay and great use of the digital technology available. Quote:
Yes I do and have been doing for several years ever when I lived in New Jersey. Just think of the amount of material going into the ground which will take forever to decompose. makes me sick.
|

1. In various areas of the county, you will see "roadside memorials" for drivers or passengers that died in accidents. Do they bother you?
They don't bother me but I don't think they should be there for years to come. If there were memorials put wherever someone has died, it would eventually fill the earth. They have grave sites for that reason. It's somewhat of a depressing site, especially if you knew the person the memorial was dedicated to. 2. What are your thoughts on legalized gambling in Hernando County? Would you visit casinos in Hernando County if they were legalized? I think it's a great idea to help the county prosper. I'd definitely visit, but I'm not much of a gambler so my visits would be few & far between. 3. If Hernando County got a drive-in theater that showed first-run movies, would you go? No doubt about it. The one thing I hate about drive-ins these days is that they're old B movies like "Slumber Party Massacre." 4. If you hear a song on the radio and would like to have it for personal use, how do you obtain it? (1) I would go and buy the CD (2) I would purchase it via iTunes or other online pay-per-song service (3) I would download it from a peer-to-peer service, such as Limewire or Bearshare, and burn it to disk/download to media for free Shamefully, I would d/l it from Limewire. I do still buy CDs on the occasion. 5. Do you own and use a high definition television? Is it plasma or LCD? What high definition service do you use? Is HD worth the hype? My boyf just bought a 46" HD Samsung LCD... he has direct TV. I think the picture quality is great when we watch high def movies but if you're watching regular TV... it's quite blurry... & his is only 720p. 6. Do you participate in Waste Management's recycling program? Do you think a recycling program is beneficial to our community? I try to, but others make it quite hard. Just two days ago I went to put paper in the recycling bin only to find that it was full of sodas, & food wrappers. I think making recycling mandatory is a good idea. |

1. In various areas of the county, you will see "roadside memorials" for drivers or passengers that died in accidents. Do they bother you? They dont bother me. I think it is a good wake up call to other drivers to remind them that accidents do happen. In clearwater, there is a memorial marker program in place. I think this is a really good idea. The sign is professionally made and states the victims name. The sign itself costs $300.00 (it is NOT paid for by the government) Here is the link to the city of clearwaters PDF with more information if you are interested. http://www.clearwater-fl.com/gov/dep...rkerPolicy.pdf
2. What are your thoughts on legalized gambling in Hernando County? Would you visit casinos in Hernando County if they were legalized? Im torn on this. If there was one here I would visit but, I moved to hernando county to get away from city life. I would love to see casinos in florida, but I dont know if I want to see them in my backyard. 3. If Hernando County got a drive-in theater that showed first-run movies, would you go? I think I would. 4. If you hear a song on the radio and would like to have it for personal use, how do you obtain it? (1) I would go and buy the CD (2) I would purchase it via iTunes or other online pay-per-song service (3) I would download it from a peer-to-peer service, such as Limewire or Bearshare, and burn it to disk/download to media for free. I just wait for it to come back on the radio ![]() 5. Do you own and use a high definition television? Is it plasma or LCD? What high definition service do you use? Is HD worth the hype? I dont use one. 6. Do you participate in Waste Management's recycling program? Do you think a recycling program is beneficial to our community? Honestly, I didnt even know there was a recycling program here. |

1. In various areas of the county, you will see "roadside memorials" for drivers or passengers that died in accidents. Do they bother you?
Not unless they use flashing strobe lights. 2. What are your thoughts on legalized gambling in Hernando County? Would you visit casinos in Hernando County if they were legalized? Sure, legalize it. Gambling goes on anyhow. I would not visit, I gamble enough at dinnertime. 3. If Hernando County got a drive-in theater that showed first-run movies, would you go? Yes, but it would be tough. The car trunks are not as big as they used to be. 4. If you hear a song on the radio and would like to have it for personal use, how do you obtain it? Ask Yergi to e-mail it to me 5. Do you own and use a high definition television? Is it plasma or LCD? What high definition service do you use? Is HD worth the hype? Yes. LCD. Semi-Bright House. HD is awesome, depending on the equipment used to shoot what you are watching. I got it for NASCAR, Football, and MMA...all 3 look immensely better in HD. 6. Do you participate in Waste Management's recycling program? Do you think a recycling program is beneficial to our community? Hmmm...participate?...lol I am in the forced participation program. I think for some items, it makes sense. But I would bet that in many cases, more energy is used to recycle the product, than what it takes to make it new. What I hate is that, no matter how small the amount of labor, it is still forced unpaid labor, and as a bonus, we pay a private company for the privilege of working for them.

I think they should be removed after 90 days and the circular "Drive Safely"signs replace them. There is one at the intersection of 19 and Spring Hill Dr by the Dolphins that looks very tacky sometimes with all of the "stuff" around it. Very distracting. I saw one for a pet on Forest Oaks near Harrow, What next? 2. Quote:
[b]1. In various areas of the county, you will see "roadside memorials" for drivers or passengers that died in accidents. Do they bother you?
No. To be perfectly honest, I mostly ignore them since there are unfortunately so many. I cannot say I really blame the families for wanting to create a visual reminder. 2. What are your thoughts on legalized gambling in Hernando County? Would you visit casinos in Hernando County if they were legalized? Whatever; I do not care either way. I lose in Vegas, lose at the Hard Rock, so I'm certain I'd lose here as well. Of course, I'm a glutton for punishment, so I would probably go. 3. If Hernando County got a drive-in theater that showed first-run movies, would you go? Nope. Too hot to sit in the car. 4. If you hear a song on the radio and would like to have it for personal use, how do you obtain it? (1) I would go and buy the CD (2) I would purchase it via iTunes or other online pay-per-song service (3) I would download it from a peer-to-peer service, such as Limewire or Bearshare, and burn it to disk/download to media for free DOn't tell on me...Limewire 5. Do you own and use a high definition television? Is it plasma or LCD? What high definition service do you use? Is HD worth the hype? 52" HD LCD, and we have Bright House HD cable box. My husband "HAD" to have it, and I admit that now I cannot bear to watch a regular TV. The picture is amazing, especially on nature shows. 6. Do you participate in Waste Management's recycling program? Do you think a recycling program is beneficial to our community? If WM would ever give me the recycling bins, sure. I'm not sure it is entirely beneficial, and I am annoyed that I pay for all kinds of things from which I derive no readily-apparent benefit. |
